Open Heart by Patti Petrella
What does having an open heart mean to you?
Being open and receptive to whatever your path may be in this world could be one meaning. If we could remove our ego from our agenda, we might see more clearly what has truth, and what is transient in nature.
With an open heart we are more receptive to truths, not just beliefs that have been passed down to us from someone else, not our own ego based beliefs, and our will that is leading us here and there, but not to harmony.
Prayer with an open heart leads us to accept our path, and surrender to divine will rather than living with a conflicted will. When we open our heart to the will of the divine, we may find true peace.
An open heart leads to trusting the divine plan, that is the source of our lives. An open heart opens us to other people. It blurs the line from where they start and we end. It bring our hearts together, so that the phrase all is one can be experienced.
Removing resentment and forgiving unconditionally can remove the barriers that keep our hearts closed.
We can open our heart with intention, with sincerity, with prayer and meditation. Come with humility and a quiet mind. Stopping the constant chatter of the mind can open us to the awareness of the divine, and dissolve the power of the ego.
We can open our hearts to love. Not the kind of love that comes from the mind, but the kind of love that comes from the heart. It is the love which encompasses all beings, and wishes peace for all.
Simply quieting the mind and learning to listen to our inner voice, is one way to know the peace that comes with an open heart.
