NEW CLASS OFFERINGS THIS MONTH...

Pilates Yoga on Wednesday evening at 5:30-  This class
features a fusion of the Pilates and Yoga methods.  Develop
long lean muscles and target core muscles.

Aerobics-Yoga on Sunday at 11:30am.   This class is for all
levels of fitness and is 30 minutes of cardio followed by 30
minutes of yoga.














Body/Spirit Fitness Personal Trainers
Nina Riccobono, LSW, AAS, CPT, is the Director of Personal
Training at Body Spirit Fitness in Gahanna, Ohio. She
worked as an Exercise Specialist in the in the Human
Performance Center at Columbus State Community College
since fall of 2002 doing fitness assessments and exercise
prescriptions. Her areas of specialization include strength
training for women, functional training, and working with
special populations. Nina has worked with a wide variety of
clients that include persons with various physical/medical
challenges, spina bifida, visual impairments, wheelchair
reliant, and those in various stages of HIV/AIDS.

Nina earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Capital University
in 1994 and an Applied Science degree in Sport and Fitness
Management from Columbus State Community College in
2003. She was a Summa Cum Laude graduate at both
institutions.

QUESTION:

Patti..I love the classes.   I'd like to add some variety to my
exercise routine.  What would you recommend that I could do
on my own in your weight room?

RESPONSE:

With the precor equipment and free weights you have an
unlimited variety of exercises to help you achieve your goals.

To make sure that you are doing the exercises correctly, you
may want to set up a personal training session, or two, to get
you started.  

That way you can go through all of the exercises with a
professional, discuss your goals, and make sure that you are
using the overload principal to achieve your goals.

Q.  Why did you decide to join a Weigh Less Club at Body
Spirit Fitness?

R.  I love the people.  No one has ever laughed or looked
down on me when I didn't get it the first time.  I also needed a
place to go with structured classes; room for me to "grow into
exercising"; and variable hours.

Q.  What makes you stick with it?

R.  Results.  I can feel the difference especially in the way
that I feel every day.  I just have more energy to get through
the day.  My clothes fit better and I don't have to hide in them
anymore.


Q.  You seem to have had some proven results.  Would you
mind sharing some of your progress in terms of where you
are to your goal?

R.  I try to update my goals frequently.  I am about half way to
my initial weight goal but I am working on setting new goals
for the beginning of the year.  I like to make my goals
manageable, not too overwhelming, "do-able" is what I like to
call them.


Q.  How do you fit exercise in with your schedule?  
Sometimes I see you in classes and sometime I see you on
the treadmill.

R.  I have a crazy work schedule but I make time for the
things that are important to me.  I have just started running,
with some help from Patti,  and I love it.  It is something I can
do anytime, I need very little "equipment", and it is a great
way to burn off stress.  Also, with the extended class
schedule, I can squeeze in a quick toning session or calming
yoga; whatever is on the "menu" during my free time.

Q.  Is there anything else you would like to share?

R.  I have also had a problem with yo-yo weight gain.  I just
want everyone to know that it is possible to get the weight off,
slowly and surely it will come off.  Free yourself up to do so
much more, anyone can be healthy it just takes practice.  
Don't give up on yourself.



Thanksgiving Holiday Hours:


We will close at 5:30 pm on Thanksgiving  Eve (Wednesday,
November 24th) and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.  We
will have normal hours on Friday, November 26th.  Join us to
work off any holiday feasting you may have indulged in!  We
can all commiserate together....We wish you a very happy
Thanksgiving holiday.

Body/Spirit Fitness now offers Weight Loss Management
through the Weigh Less Club.Body/Spirit Fitness Weight Loss

The Weigh Less Club has proven results.  The 13 week
program is just $65-which is only $5 per class.  You can
make up sessions if you have to miss one.  Join us on
Saturday mornings at 9:30, right here at the studio.  Patti's
book "90 Day Weight Loss & Wellness Program & Workbook"
is just $15 if you are part of the club and $20 to Body Spirt
Fitness Members.  You can join at any time.  This is perfect
timing as the holiday season approaches.

video-taping was gratefully appreciated!  Bear with me as I

PS.  I've heard my Shape and Tone class has been dubbed
Shape and Groan....hmmmm...I'm off to research some new
very heavily weighted abdominal crunches as a
payback....perhaps we'll do them standing on our heads.....:-)
